Common questions

Only you. Files are encrypted on your device with AES-256 before they ever leave it, and your key never reaches our servers. What we store is encrypted data that we cannot read.
No. There is no email, username, or profile tied to your vault. You receive a Vault ID and a secret key, and that token is how you access your data.
On your chosen interval, your encrypted vault is replicated to a dedicated server in a different region and the previous copy is destroyed. Your Vault ID and key stay the same, so access never changes.
A server that sits in one place is a fixed target for breaches, misconfiguration, and prolonged exposure. Continuously relocating the encrypted data limits how long it lives in any single environment, reducing the blast radius if one is ever compromised.
We comply with valid legal requests. Because of the zero-knowledge design, the only thing we can provide is encrypted data. We do not hold your key and cannot decrypt your files. We can't produce what we have no access to.
They cannot be recovered. There is no password reset, no email recovery, and no support override. This is a deliberate property of zero-knowledge: if we could recover your key, so could someone else. Keep your recovery kit somewhere safe.
Ghost keeps your encrypted vault on one dedicated server that rotates on your chosen interval. Phantom splits your data into three encrypted shards across three servers in three regions, so no single server ever holds your complete file.
Both are built on client-side encryption. The difference is operational: conventional encrypted storage keeps your data in one fixed location, while ark256 continuously relocates the encrypted data across regions and uses token-based access with no account. Same encryption foundation, different operating model.
Your vault runs with full rotation for 30 days. After that, everything (the servers, the data, every copy) is permanently destroyed. No renewal, no recovery.
Yes. Each vault holds up to 10 GB. Use your Vault ID and key to upload anytime, and all files in the vault rotate together.
